Use HoundLine lawfully and honestly

Do not submit material you obtained unlawfully or cannot lawfully provide for HoundLine’s stated uses. Do not knowingly submit false facts, fabricated provenance, misleading identities, or altered documents without clearly identifying the alteration.

Respect people and privacy

Do not upload passwords, financial information, government identifiers, sensitive health information, private correspondence, or unnecessary personal contact details. Do not harass, threaten, stalk, dox, impersonate, or exploit another person.

Respect copyright, trademarks, and sources

Do not bulk-copy registry publications or databases; scrape protected HoundLine content; remove attribution; misuse logos or seals; imply registry affiliation; or upload complete books, magazines, websites, photo collections, or databases without a lawful basis. Names and historical facts may be reported, but expressive presentation and branding require separate care. Use the complaint process when material affects your rights.

Protect the service

Do not bypass paywalls, access controls, rate limits, or security measures; share credentials improperly; probe accounts or infrastructure without written authorization; distribute malware; automate abusive traffic; or interfere with another user’s access.

Responsible research use

Do not present HoundLine research as an official registry determination, guaranteed genetic proof, veterinary advice, or a basis for harassment or discrimination. Preserve uncertainty and source context when repeating disputed research.

Enforcement

HoundLine may rate-limit activity, restrict disputed material, remove content, suspend accounts, preserve evidence, or report conduct when reasonably necessary. We consider context, severity, repetition, safety, and credible rights claims. You may challenge a source or enforcement decision through the public request form.
