Closed alpha: what to expect

Know what is ready, what is still experimental, and how to report a problem without risking your work.

HoundLine is ready for careful real-world use

The closed alpha is a small, invitation-only test. Core privacy, account, pedigree, research, scanning, support, and recovery safeguards are in place, but an unfamiliar document or device can still reveal a problem.

The scanner always makes a draft

A scan never silently rewrites your pedigree. Compare every name and position with the document, correct the draft, and import only when you are satisfied.

  1. Photograph or upload the complete document.
  2. Wait for the review screen instead of submitting the same file repeatedly.
  3. Correct uncertain fields before importing.

Search access is granted by an administrator

During closed alpha, approved testers can receive Alpha Research access. It unlocks the research features that may later require Plus, but it is not a paid subscription.

Report confusion as well as errors

Use Help from the page where the problem happened. Include the HoundLine error code if one appears, describe what you expected, and avoid emailing private pedigree documents unless support specifically asks for them.
