Understand conflicting research

See why HoundLine can show more than one reported answer and how to decide what belongs in your pedigree.

A conflict is not silently resolved

Historical documents and researcher records can disagree. HoundLine keeps conflicting reports visible instead of choosing one without enough evidence.

Compare the evidence

Registration numbers and original documents usually identify a dog more strongly than a name alone. Parentage, dates, sex, owner or breeder prefixes, and the rest of the pedigree should also agree.

Your pedigree remains your choice

Accept the detail supported by the evidence you trust, or leave the lead pending while you research it. A pending or ignored conflict does not alter your private dog.
